Khajuraho, Varanasi, Sarnath

Celebrated my Diwali in Khajuraho with few friends from Germany. The policeman was friendly to get acquaintance with my foreigner friend and ignored our buying crackers from a surreptitious shop-owner selling it in a forbidden area. We stayed quite close to the main Western Temple area. We took no guide who at once thought that I am the guide. It was quite amusing to see different postures of love-making and then some other guides describing art of love making and other fantastic tales.....

Carnal to non-material transition at Varanasi. Sandhya Arti of Ganges looked orchestrated but nevertheless we were awed by it. Sorry to see dirty Ganges(dead dog flowing), meet greedy hotel guys/ taxi driver/ boatmen. Heavy security in Vishwanath Temple emphaised it's importance as the most prime area. After all this area is like Vatican to Hindus. Sarnath looked more organized for its Buddhist Stupas and monks. I tend to believe all other religions, apart from Hinduism are quite disciplined.

Got very tired in Delhi and the flight next day morning made us lose all interest to go anywhere. Went to a mall, saw red-fort, spent evening in Rajghat (mosquitoes didn't allow us to sit there for long but how the love-birds there were unaffected), spent the evening in Hotel room playing cards: Non-Stop Video
